The Universities are Michigan State, Wayne State, Ohio State, Michigan and Western Michigan. The topic is Sexual Ethics, Faith and the University and the speaker is Dr. Stanton L. Jones, Professor at Wheaton College, Illinois.
Here is a quote about the topic from our own Tamara (Shold) Townsend, a former CGSA leader:
"I just got the CGSA message regarding the upcoming grad student retreat. Even though I won't be attending, I just thought I would let you know that it looks very interesting! I'm proud to see Wheaton's provost as the keynote speaker. I just got back from Wheaton last night...I interacted with Stan Jones in two different interviews... I have read some of his writings on homosexuality, specifically a 45 (or so) page response to a religious gay rights group that came to Wheaton's campus last year. I thought that paper was probably the best thing I have ever read on the topic...It's a heavy topic, but from my perspective, this is perhaps the number one crisis point between the church and the world. Christians would do well to be better prepared to dialog about homosexuality in a way that is both loving and biblical. "
