At this Friday's CGSA meeting we will continue our look at "Paradoxes and Mysteries of the Christian Faith" with a talk on the Paradox of Grace and Deed (Works.) Our speaker will be Kenneth Lee, who pastors the Grace Korean United Methodist Church in Worthington, the church Se Kyung attends. Dr. Lee was on the faculty of the Ohio State School of Architecture for 22 years before taking early retirement in 1995.
Time and Place
We meet on Friday evenings at Royer Student Activities Center located on north campus next to Jones Graduate Tower. Come in the north doors and enter the room on the right at the top of the stairs. CGSA Prayer starts at 5:30 and is a great way to jump into God's mission as we pray for the world, the campus, and our own concerns. The Friday Night Meeting goes from 6:30 to 8:00 pm after which we go out for dinner at an inexpensive restaurant. Rides are available and all are welcome.

This Friday there will be no CGSA meeting. Instead we will be heading out for the CGSA Winter Retreat. If you haven't yet signed up and would like to come, please email Gary (gary.ivcf@earthlink.net) about coming, we most likely will still have a spot for you.
Time and Place
This years retreat is taking place at the Heartland Retreat Center and directions follow below. We will be meeting behind Jones Tower at 6:00 pm to set up rides. If you are planning on coming up later that night or on Saturday we will be staying at Lakeview Lodge #1, follow the signs once you get to Heartland. Directions to Heartland:
Take your favorite route to get on I-71 Northbound (Right on Hudson off High is my current favorite)
A little less than 30 miles past the 270 outer belt take Exit 140, Rt. 61 South.
Turn right (west) on CR 15. CR 15 will go back over I-71.
Turn right (north) on CR 218.
Turn left (west) on CR 225.
The entrance to Heartland is on the right.
We are staying at Lakeview Lodge #1

This Friday's CGSA meeting is a bunch of firsts; the first meeting of the new winter quarter, the first meeting of 2007, and the first talk in our winter theme: "Paradoxes and Mysteries of the Christian Faith." Our very own Gary Nielsen will be introducing the subject this Friday.

Friday January 12th kicks off both an extended weekend at Ohio State and the CGSA Winter Retreat , if you are planning on attending and have not yet emailed me (helmus.3@osu.edu) please let me know by Thursday January 4th by noon or as soon as possible afterwards. Brochures for the event are online, please give completed registration sheet to this Friday's meeting and give them to Jonathan or Gary.
